Privacy Policy

Couple Conversations is a small, heartfelt project built to help couples know each other more deeply. What you write here is some of the most personal stuff there is. We treat it that way.

The short version

Your answers are stored so you can come back to them on any device.

They are kept private — sent over secure connections and stored on protected servers that only your account can read.

We do not read, analyse, profile, or mine your answers.

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with advertisers or data brokers — ever.

We do not use passwords. You sign in with a one-time "magic link" sent to your email.

Who we are

This policy covers Couple Conversations (the "service", "we", "us"). If you have any questions about it or your data, contact us at hello@thelittlefam.co.

What we collect

Your email address — used only to send your sign-in link and to identify your couple's account. We do not add you to marketing lists.
The content you create in the app — your answers, any custom questions you add, your favourites, your (optional) names, and your (optional) relationship status. This is stored so it syncs across your devices.
Basic technical data — standard server and security logs (such as the timing of requests) that our hosting and database providers keep to operate the service securely. These are not used to build a profile of you.

We do not knowingly collect anything you don't type in or that isn't needed to sign you in.

How your information is stored and protected

Private in transit. All communication between your device and our servers travels over secure (HTTPS/TLS) connections.
Private at rest. Your data is stored in a managed, access-controlled database (Supabase) — never anywhere public.
Strict access controls. The database uses row-level security: a signed-in session can only ever read or write that account's own row. One couple can never see another couple's answers.
No data mining. Your answers are never fed into analytics, advertising, machine-learning training, or any product feature other than showing them back to you.

We commit to never reading, selling, or sharing your private answers. To run and support the service, a small number of trusted operators technically could access the database (for example to fix a bug or restore a backup); we restrict that access and will never use it to browse or exploit your content. If you want an even stronger guarantee — where your answers are unreadable to anyone but the two of you, including us — that's on our roadmap; let us know if it matters to you.

Who else is involved (sub-processors)

We rely on a couple of reputable providers purely to run the app. They process data on our behalf and are bound by their own security and privacy commitments:

Supabase — database, storage, and magic-link authentication. (Supabase privacy)
Cloudflare — hosting and delivery of the website. (Cloudflare privacy)
Google Fonts — the typefaces used in the design.

We do not sell data to anyone, and these providers are not permitted to use your content for their own purposes.

Cookies and local storage

We use only what's necessary to keep you signed in and to make the app work offline. This includes a session token (so you don't have to request a new magic link every time) and a local cache of your answers in your browser. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as your account exists, so it's there when you come back. You can delete it at any time (see below). If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your stored content; routine backups may retain a copy for a short period before they roll off.

Your choices and rights

Export. You can download a copy of everything you've written at any time from the account menu in the app ("Export my answers").
Delete. You can permanently delete your saved content from the account menu ("Delete my data"). To also delete the sign-in record (your email), email us and we'll remove it.
Access & correction. Everything we store about your couple is visible and editable inside the app.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA (including the right to object, restrict processing, or lodge a complaint with a regulator). To exercise any of these, contact us at hello@thelittlefam.co.

Children

Couple Conversations is intended for adults in relationships and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
